EVOLUTION OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT THEORIES IN THE CONTEXT OF OPTIMIZING EXPORT OPPORTUNITIES OF REGIONS OF WESTERN UKRAINE

The article analyzes the evolution of regional development theories in order to determine their impact on the formation of the export potential of the regions of the western part of Ukraine. Export is a key factor in the economic growth of the regions. The regions of the western part of Ukraine have significant potential for expanding export opportunities due to their geographical location, wealth of natural resources and development of human capital. At the same time, regional development processes require a scientifically sound approach that takes into account both classical and modern theories. The western region is characterized by a favorable geographical location, wealth of natural resources and significant human capital, but faces numerous challenges, such as infrastructure constraints, insufficient level of innovation and demographic problems. Neoclassical and neo-Keynesian theories of regional development are studied, including the theory of comparative advantage, central places, new economic geography and institutional approach. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of cross-border cooperation, export diversification and the introduction of innovative technologies as key elements of increasing the competitiveness of the region. As a result, priority areas for optimizing export opportunities have been identified, in particular, the creation of export clusters, stimulating small and medium-sized businesses and integration into European markets. Specific recommendations for authorities, businesses and scientific institutions aimed at sustainable development of the region have been proposed. The results obtained can be used to form regional development strategies aimed at effective integration into the world economy. The obtained research results can play an important role if they are used to increase economic indicators in the field of exports, and especially with state support for export processes in the region. The analysis conducted will contribute to the theoretical formation and implementation of effective export regional policy. The evolution of regional development theories demonstrates the importance of a comprehensive approach to optimizing export opportunities. The regions of the western part of Ukraine have significant potential that can be realized through the integration of classical and modern approaches.
