Blowing one hundred dandelions
Blowing One Hundred Dandelions is a research-through-design exploration that transforms an ephemeral, playful act into a deeper investigation of our relationship with time, surrounding environment, and everyday life. The project consists of five progressively efficient products, ranging from a simple mouthpiece to an electric fan mechanism, allowing the designer to blow more dandelions at a time. When dandelions were in full bloom, these products were taken to various parks and public green spaces in London to accomplish their mission. The process was documented and presented through photograph. Through the process of seeking, collecting, and blowing dandelions, this project served as a medium to reconfigure the designer's perception of the surroundings and dandelions as resilient life forms. By interacting with the dandelion life cycle, the project highlights the dynamic interplay between natural rhythms, human influence, and designed artifacts.
