EMBEDDING DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION INTO EMPLOYEE RETENTION FRAMEWORKS: A STRATEGIC HRM PERSPECTIVE

This research paper explores the integration of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) into employee retention frameworks, emphasizing its growing significance in contemporary organizational strategy. As businesses operate in increasingly diverse environments, traditional retention methods are proving insufficient without inclusive practices that promote fairness, belonging, and psychological safety. Drawing from organizational behaviour theories, real world case studies, and industry data particularly from Indian and global firms this paper demonstrates how DEI initiatives not only reduce attrition but also enhance engagement, trust, and job satisfaction. Key drivers such as inclusive leadership, equitable policies, transparent communication, and accountability mechanisms are analysed. The paper also outlines best practices, frameworks, and measurable outcomes, offering actionable insights for HR professionals, business leaders, and policymakers. It concludes by suggesting future research avenues, including the role of AI in inclusive HR, generational differences in DEI expectations, and the establishment of global DEI benchmarks.
