Resolution of fibroadenosis with individualized homoeopathy: A case report with diagnostic evidence
Fibroadenosis is a benign condition of the breast commonly affecting women of reproductive age, often marked by pain, nodularity, and cyclical discomfort. Conventional approaches typically involve symptomatic management or surgical interventions in chronic or severe cases. Homoeopathy offers a patient-centric, individualized approach, focusing on both physical and mental generals to stimulate the body’s innate healing response. This case report presents a 32-year-old woman who had been experiencing persistent pain and heaviness in the right breast for two years. The symptoms started following the delivery of her fourth child and were confirmed as fibroadenosis via ultrasonographic examination. The patient also suffered from multiple joint pains ameliorated by motion, recurrent aphthous ulcers, and mental symptoms like restlessness and anxiety from sudden events. Based on the totality of symptoms, Rhus toxicodendron was selected as the constitutional remedy and administered in the 50 millesimal potency scale. Over successive follow-ups, the patient showed progressive relief from her chief complaint as well as associated symptoms. A repeat ultrasonography done after nine months revealed complete resolution of fibroadenosis, with no residual lesions in either breast. This case emphasizes the therapeutic potential of individualized homoeopathic intervention in the management of benign structural lesions like fibroadenosis, and advocates for further systematic documentation and clinical investigation into such cases.
