Polyaniline: Robust Green Light-Driven Photocatalyst for Multi-Textile Dye Degradation
The present paper describes the oxidative polymerization synthesis of fibrous polyaniline, which is characterized by a number of analytical methods such as Raman analysis, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The degradation of organic dyes (Aniline Blue, Crystal Violet, Rhodamine 6G, and Safranin) under exposure to visible light was used to assess the photocatalytic activity of the polyaniline. The results showed remarkable degradation efficiency, with 99.97% of Aniline Blue demineralized after 50 minutes. With a rate constant of 4.32 × 10⁻² min⁻¹, the degradation kinetics exhibited a pseudo-first-order model and were noticeably higher than those of the other dyes that were examined. Polyaniline is a potential material for wastewater treatment applications because of its strong photocatalytic activity and stability. This study demonstrates polyaniline’s potential as a sustainable and effective photocatalyst for environmental remediation, providing a workable alternative for the degradation of organic pollutants. The results point to Polyaniline’s potential for useful implementation in a range of environmental remediation procedures.
