Enhancing Culinary SMEs Revenue in Burneh District, Bangkalan Through Halal Certification Optimization
This research aims to investigate the implementation of halal certification, the reactions of (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) SMEs owners, and the impacts that arise from the granting of halal certificates to SMEs in the culinary sector. This research focuses on the implementation, response, and impact of halal certification among culinary SMEs in Burneh District, in accordance with the regulations in Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance. This research has three main objectives; (1) To examine the implementation of halal certification in Burneh District; (2) To identify how SMEs owners respond to the existence of halal certification; and (3) To analyze how halal certification affects changes in SMEs income in Burneh District. The method used is a quantitative approach with field research that prioritizes direct observation and collecting relevant data. The causal approach explores the relationship between halal certification and its impact on income improvement. The research technique applied is a survey, which involves a sample from a specific population, using questionnaires and interviews as data collection tools, in addition to referring to literature studies. The research results show no significant change in the income of culinary SMEs after obtaining halal certification. Most consumers do not seem to pay much attention to whether the products they consume are halal-certified, and even Muslim consumers tend not to check the halal status of the products they choose.
