<ns3:p>The article considers professional foster parenting in Poland. Its main goal is to show the legal and institutional conditions for the development of professional foster families and to indicate the barriers to using the resources and potential of foster carers in working for local communities, i.e. the use of the community method in the activities of a professional foster parent. The study used secondary analysis of existing data: statistical data (published by the Central Statistical Office), the content of legal and official documents, as well as selected analyzes and research results. The above data was subject to our own interpretation.</ns3:p>
