QUALITY OF LIFE OF RETIREES AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY IN THE MACRO-REGION OF EASTERN POLAND

<ns3:p>One of the dominant problems faced by world economies is the problem of an aging society, and associated with it is the ability to obtain retirement benefits. Retirement of working people is one of the most important life decisions. It is associated with both economic and social consequences, affecting both the individual and the entire household. The aim of the article is to show the impact of taking up further professional activity during the retirement age on the subjective sense of satisfaction/quality of life. The hypothesis is that people receiving retirement benefits while also being professionally active show a higher subjective assessment of the quality of life in individual dimensions. To verify the hypothesis, a survey was conducted between February and May 2021 on a research group from the eastern regions covering the ZUS branches in Białystok, Lublin, Biłgoraj and Rzeszów. The research results were obtained on a group of 403 people.</ns3:p>
