The Influence Of The Guided Discovery Learning Model On Problem Solving Ability Mathematics Of Class IV Students UPT SPF SD Inpres Kera-Kera Makassar City

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematics problem solving ability of fourth grade elementary school students. This study aims to determine the application of the Guided Discovery Learning model in elementary schools, to describe the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students, and to determine the effect of the Guided Discovery Learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students. In this study, a quantitative approach was used with a Quasi Experimental Design type of research. The total population is 46 students consisting of two classes of 23 students each. Then the sample in this study was selected using purposive sampling technique. The data in this study were collected using documentation, observation sheets and objective tests given before and after the implementation of learning. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the implementation of the Guided Discovery Learning model at the first meeting was effective and at the second meeting it was very effective. The results of inferential analysis using independent sample t-test showed that there were differences in posttest results between the experimental and control classes. This shows that there is an increase in students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the experimental group. So it can be concluded that there was a significant influence on the application of the Guided Discovery model.
