OPTIMAL DESIGN OF THE CHEMICAL-TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING OF COKE OVEN GASES

In the paper have been proposed a chemical-technological system for processing of coke oven gases generated at the delayed coking unit of the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery with additional supply of cracking and pyrolysis gases, as well as a method for its calculation. According to the stage of proposed method, statistical processing of oil refinery data was carried out and the average component composition of coke oven gases was determined. By multiplying the total mass amount of coke gases by their percentage content, their quantitative composition was determined. However, not very high values of the mass composition of coke gases forced us to include an additional supply of these substances (ethane, ethylene, propane and propylene, which were selected as key ones) from cracking and pyrolysis gases. Based on the calculated total values of the mass input flows of cracking and pyrolysis gases, as well as a study of the market situation in our Republic, priority-important target products were selected. The basic technological scheme for processing of synthetic gases is proposed, with the designation of all its input and output flows, as well as the establishment of connections between material and recirculation flows between all processes. The production capacities of reactor elements for all target products of the chemical-technological system have been determined. To obtain these products, both new and existing processes (7 in total) were included in the scheme. For each process on the base of their kinetic models has been carried out theoretical optimization and have been found the optimal process modes. For some new processes, issues of their optimal design were resolved. For example, for the ethane pyrolysis process based on its kinetic model was developed its mathematical model and the yield of the target product – ethylene for various internal pipe diameters were carried out. For the process of ethylene polymerization, a non-stationary mathematical model was developed, which will allow maintaining optimal productivity at the desired level. By combining mathematical models of all processes into a common system with respect to general operating parameters the complete mathematical model of a chemical-technological system was worked out. It will help us with taking into account the economic criterion resolve the issues of its global optimization. Since only on the basis of optimizing the system according to the general economic criterion of optimality we can select the final structure of the complex that would correspond to its optimal functioning. Keywords: chemical-technological system, optimal design, coke oven gases, pyrolysis, non-stationarity, methodology.
