Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia with Eosinophilia

Abstract Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) is characterized by single or multiple nodular lesions without encapsulation, predominantly in the head-and-neck region. The ear, face, and scalp are the most affected areas, and approximately, one-third of patients have lesions on the ear. ALHE often presents as reddish-brown nodules that may bleed, itch, or be painful. However, some patients are asymptomatic. The pathogenesis of ALHE remains unclear, but its etiology has been suggested to be idiopathic or to result from trauma or immunization. These lesions often pose challenges in both diagnosis and management due to their rarity. A 33-year-old patient reported to our institute with complaints of enlarging masses over the right ear pinna for the past 2 years. In this case, right ear mass excision was done followed by intralesional corticosteroids and radiotherapy.
