THE ADOPTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN SOME SELECTED NIGERIAN TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANIES

This study explores the adaptation and implementation of emerging technologies in selected Nigerian telecommunications companies, with a focus on understanding how these technologies influence service delivery and organizational performance. Using an exploratory research design and relying on secondary data sources—including industry reports, academic publications, and company records—the study examines trends in technology investments, customer satisfaction outcomes, and organizational readiness. Data analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between sustained investment in technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, and improved service delivery across companies like MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, and Glo. The study further identified challenges such as infrastructure limitations, regulatory constraints, and workforce capability gaps that hinder effective technology adoption. Based on these findings, the study recommends increased investment in emerging technologies, staff training, and strategic alignment to enhance technology integration. The research concludes that successful technology adaptation is critical for improving customer experience and sustaining competitive advantage in Nigeria’s dynamic telecom sector.
