Question as One of the Principles of Knowledge in Sherzad Hassan's Novel The Last Night of Jesus' Descent
The link between knowledge and literature is long and well known. The early works of world literature and, more precisely, of Kurdish literature were devised to transmit a certain sort of knowledge. Because the novel is written in prose, In the novel one has more space for the presentation of the knowledge, because the novel “The Last Night of Jesus’ Decent” is more like the presentation of knowledge, because it concerns questions and answers. The novelist discusses a number of philosophical, religious and human issues and tries to answer them. Taking its aims as its top two intentions, this study seeks to first: What kind of questions are asked in the novel and at what cognitive level? Second: reveals the cognitive road that the novelist wishes to tread in order to guide and bring the reader to the cognitive level that he wishes, because the novelist didn't come to make questions the subject of his novel and write his novel on that basis, but there is one, or more purposes regarding this matter. In Sherzad Hassan's “The Last Night of Jesus' Descent” Although the novel is based on questions, the book uses many different forms of questions (open and closed) were asked by the characters and the characters who have cognitive gaps ask them to the character who has information, thus the reader got information.
