Stylops Kirby, 1802 (Strepsiptera: Stylopidae) parasitizing bees in the Andrena Fabricius, 1775 subgenus Callandrena Cockerell, 1898 (Hymenoptera: Andrenidae), with description of a new species

Stylops pollocki sp. nov. is described from a single female collected in its host Andrena (Callandrena) ardis LaBerge, 1967, representing a new state record of Stylops Kirby, 1802 in New Mexico. All species of Stylops parasitizing the Andrena Fabricius, 1775 subgenus Callandrena Cockerell, 1898 are given updated descriptions. Stylops swenki Pierce, 1909 is maintained as a valid species with Stylops asteridis Pierce, 1911 remaining a synonym of S. swenki. A lectotype is designated for S. swenki. Stylops crawfordi Pierce, 1909 is maintained as valid species. All Andrena (Callandrena) species parasitized by Stylops occur in a monophyletic clade within Andrena (Callandrena), which has been recovered as polyphyletic.
