SYSTEMIC ENZYME THERAPY DRUGS IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF THE MALE GENITAL ORGANS

ABSTRACTS. Chronic inflammatory diseases of the male genital organs are one of the most relevant pathological processes in the male reproductive system, it is characterized by high prevalence and different views of modern medical science on its pathogenesis and treatment. The prevalence of CP in the world is increasing every year, it has great medical and social significance. Therefore, effective therapy of the above pathology, which involves the use of modern treatment methods, is one of the most important tasks of urology. The purpose of the work is to study the theoretical references of the possibility of using systemic enzyme therapy drugs, in particular the dietary supplement KSANTAZA produced by OZYMUK PHARM, in the complex treatment of chronic prostatitis. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Recently, a new group of biologically active drugs has appeared in pharmacology — systemic enzyme therapy drugs (SET), a prominent representative of which is serratiopeptidase, which is able to influence most of the links in the pathogenesis of inflammatory processes in the human body. The work demonstrates the influence of SET on each link and the pathogenesis and morphogenesis of changes in the prostate gland in chronic prostatitis in men at all stages of the development of the inflammatory process. Over the past few decades, SET drugs have proven effective in the treatment of oncological pathology, vascular disorders, enzyme deficiency disorders, and are also an effective alternative to anti-inflammatory drugs. Among the different classes of SET drugs, the group of serine protease drugs has demonstrated enormous potential in modern medicine. Serine proteases have a long history of therapeutic use; tissue plasminogen activators of animal or microbial origin are the most effective way to treat vascular disorders and inflammatory processes. Serratiopeptidase is a protein enzyme obtained from non-pathogenic enterobacteria belonging to the genus Serratia. DISCUSSION. Serratiopeptidase is absorbed from the intestine, distributed to the site of inflammation via blood or lymph, and has a complex effect, exerting an anti-inflammatory effect, regulating inflammatory cytokines, which are the background for the emergence and maintenance of chronic inflammation; analgesic effect by inhibiting the release of analgesic amines such as bradykinin from inflamed tissues. 1In addition, it acts as a fibrinolytic/caseinolytic in atherosclerotic diseases by breaking down fibrin and other damaged tissues without damaging living tissues. This may contribute to the dissolution of blood clots and atherosclerotic plaques. Serratiopeptidase helps to speed up wound healing by improving drainage in inflamed areas, which leads to reduced swelling, pain and improved recovery. Serratiopeptidase acts as an agent against biofilms, i.e. multicellular structures of dense and highly hydrated communities of microorganisms embedded in a matrix of self-synthesized polymeric or proteinaceous material. Serratiopeptidase, as an accessible bacterial metalloproteinase, has proven effective against various biofilm-associated diseases for the following reasons: it can alter the virulence phenotype of bacteria in biofilms; it is effective against mature biofilms; enhances the bactericidal effect of antibiotics against bacterial biofilms. Serratiopeptidase can potentially increase the effectiveness of antibacterial therapy when used with: penicillins, cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines. Combined treatment with serratiopeptidase with antibiotics is a new approach to the treatment of bacterial biofilm infection. This combination has been shown to have a synergistic effect. Serratiopeptidase is used by doctors of various specialties, such as surgery, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology and dentistry, urology, due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-endemic and analgesic effects. Despite the above facts and studies, the molecular mechanism of action of serratiopeptidase has not been fully studied. Only fragmentary loci of its action are described in the literature, but the use of serratiopeptidase in clinical practice allows us to provide more effective medical care to our patients. In Ukraine, a prominent representative of SET drugs is the drug serratiopeptidase, which is part of the dietary supplement KSANTAZA from the pharmaceutical company OZYMUK PHARM. KSANTAZA is an integrated enzyme drug. It includes serratiopeptidase — 10 mg (mg), astaxanthin — 4 mg (mg). Astaxanthin is a substance of natural origin that has antioxidant properties, helps protect cells from «oxidative stress» caused by free radicals. Astaxanthin helps improve the normal state of blood vessels, has an anti-inflammatory effect. Serratiopeptidase and astaxanthin contribute to the formation optimal conditions for improving the body’s recovery. CONCLUSION. KSANTHASE is a modern approach to supporting recovery processes, which can be used in complex treatment regimens for patients with inflammatory and infectious conditions.
