Predation model with prey-dependent carrying capacity for predators
In this paper, a predation model with the Holling-II functional response is established. In the model, the carrying capacity of the predator depends on the available prey. Analyses reveal its rich dynamics, which include the coexistence of stable equilibria and unbounded solutions. Application to the alpine meadow ecosystem indicates that overgrazing may lead to alpine meadow degradation. Consequently, reducing grazing may be an effective measure to restore a degraded alpine meadow.
