THE ROLE OF INTERNAL AUDITS IN IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN MTU MAINTENANCE SERBIA D.O.O.
Internal audits play a key role in evaluating the effectiveness of the occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system at MTU Maintenance Serbia. These audits, compliant with the ISO 45001 standard, enable timely recognition of potential problems, identification of non-conformities and proactive risk resolution. The internal audit process includes document review, interviews with employees and visual inspections of the work environment, thereby ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the state of security. At MTU Maintenance Serbia, monthly, quarterly and annual audits are conducted, which enable continuous monitoring and improvement of the safety culture. By engaging employees in the audit process, their security awareness and ability to identify risks increases. Audit results are systematically documented, and the implementation of corrective measures is monitored through the ActionLog software. This approach not only ensures compliance with ISO 45001, but also contributes to creating a safer work environment, reducing the number of incidents and injuries, and strengthening collective knowledge and trust among employees. Through this process, MTU Maintenance Serbia lays the foundations for the further development of the safety culture in the organization.
