Claim Justification using Subject Predicate Distance (SPD) Extraction

A justification strengthens a claim, but it is only beneficial if it aligns with the claim. In many real-life scenarios, however, justifications are often unrelated to the claims they support, as seen in misleading advertisements, fake political speeches, and deceptive resumes. While sentenceBERT is effective for semantic matching tasks in NLP, it requires huge training time and extensive processing power.

Abstract

A justification strengthens a claim, but it is only beneficial if it aligns with the claim. In many real-life scenarios, however, justifications are often unrelated to the claims they support, as seen in misleading advertisements, fake political speeches, and deceptive resumes. While sentenceBERT is effective for semantic matching tasks in NLP, it requires huge training time and extensive processing power.
