Performance Analysis of Circle Search Algorithm-Based MPPT for Solar in Fuzzy Controlled Distributed Voltage Regulation of a Remote Microgrid

In this paper, a high-performance distributed voltage control technique for remote microgrids (rMG) is presented, where a Circle Search Algorithm (CSA)-based Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and Adaptive Fuzzy PID (AFPID) controller are utilized. The suggested technique overcomes the drawbacks of traditional control strategies by extracting maximum dynamic power from the solar photovoltaic (SPV) system, thus ensuring better voltage stability under varied load scenarios, unbalanced loading, reactive power oscillations, and fault scenarios. The CSA-based MPPT uses a circular search technique to eliminate oscillations and reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD), while the AFPID controller automatically adjusts the control gains for improved system robustness. The performance is verified through comprehensive MATLAB/Simulink simulations, which indicate considerable improvements in power quality, convergence rate, and dynamic performance. The suggested technique is an efficient solution to improve the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy-based microgrids in isolated or dynamic situations. This research paves the way forward.
