Efficient Bioelectricity Generation System Using Microalgae

The increasing demand for sustainable and renewable energy sources has driven innovation in bioenergy technologies. This project develops an efficient bioelectricity generation system using the metabolic activity and photosynthetic capabilities of microalgae within a microbial fuel cell (MFC) setup. The problem identified is that the current bioenergy systems have limitations in terms of scalability and efficiency. Therefore, this solution adds high-conductivity electrodes for effective electron transfer, a CT/PT module for realtime electrical monitoring, and an Arduino UNO for system control and data acquisition. The generated energy will be stored in a battery, and different loads will be tested to check the efficiency of the output. The system will be designed to be easily scalable, stable, and compatible with existing electrical infrastructure. In this regard, the optimization of these components in this research will aim at demonstrating the feasibility of microalgae as a source of renewable energy—a promising, eco-friendly, sustainable alternative to fossil fuels that will contribute to a cleaner energy future.
