Urban vs. Rural Crime Dynamics: A Spatio-Temporal and Machine Learning Approach for Comparative Analysis
The research presents a comprehensive framework that integrates spatio-temporal techniques with machine learning algorithms to compare crime rates in urban and rural areas. This framework employs hybrid algorithms, including neural networks, decision trees, and ensemble approaches, to analyze the complex relationship between geographic distribution and crime patterns. By leveraging diverse geo-spatial data from satellite imagery, census reports, and crime statistics, the framework uncovers meaningful correlations that enable accurate crime rate predictions. Advanced machine learning models provide precise crime hotspot detection with an 88% accuracy rate and urban growth predictions with a 92% success rate, showcasing robust analytical capabilities for crime trend assessment in both settings. Experimental evaluations on real-world data from metropolitan and rural regions validate the framework's reliability and scalability. The combination of spatio-temporal analysis with interconnected datasets ensures applicability to both urban and rural safety management. Designed to offer actionable insights, this framework supports policymakers and law enforcement agencies in implementing targeted crime prevention strategies tailored to urban and rural contexts. The study emphasizes how modern crime analysis and urban planning rely on spatio-temporal and machine learning methodologies to enhance public safety and resource allocation. Through scalable, data-driven solutions, this framework serves as a transformative tool for developing safer and more sustainable communities, bridging the gap between urban and rural crime dynamics.
