Sentiment Analysis: Navigating Digital Emotions
In the current digital era, internet platforms provide dynamic venues for expressing both overt and covert feelings. By combining survey responses, behavioral insights, and indepth text analysis, this study adopts a user-centered approach to investigate how sentiment appears on Twitter in discussions around technology, entertainment, gaming, and pharmaceuticals. In order to create TF-IDF feature vectors we collected and balanced 74,682 tweets into positive, neutral, and negative classifications. We then cleaned and lemmatized the text. We trained and compared a Random Forest + KNN ensemble as well as five traditional classifiers: Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors, SVM, XGBoost, and Logistic Regression. Statistical analysis demonstrates that combining models provides a significant advantage over using them alone. We consider the wider problem of combining machine learning and deep language understanding as well as practical ramifications beyond algorithmic efficiency, including identifying emerging customer problems. This research establish the groundwork for sentiment analysis algorithms that are trustworthy and sensitive to the vast complexity of online human expression.
