Design and Research on the Structure of a Novel Non-Tracking Concentrator with CPV/T System
Concentrated photovoltaic and thermal(CPV/T) technology is an efficient way of utilizing solar energy. Tracking devices are an important part of CPV/T system, but their high cost and maintenance expense hinder the development and commercial application of CVP/T technology. A novel non-tracking concentrator was proposed and a two-dimensional ray tracing mathematical model was developed. The mathematical model makes it possible to calculate the concentrating efficiency, concentration ratio and radiation uniformity of a concentrator with multiple structural parameters under the same conditions of sunlight incidence. A concentrator model was designed for a PV/T module with a structural size of $2000 * 956 * 35 \mathrm{~mm}$, and an experimental platform was built with the local latitude value as the inclination angle. The concentration ratio and radiation uniformity of the hyperbolic concentrator (HC) was simulated in the present study at a reflectivity of 0.9. At the spring equinox day, the concentration ratio of HC can reach 1.46; At the summer solstice day, the concentration ratio is 1.23; The radiation uniformity is around 0.95. The solar energy revenue of the solar system throughout the year was calculated based on the statistical data of solar radiation intensity in Xi’an, China in 2020.
