Analysis and Optimization of Thrust Fluctuation in a Tubular Segmented-Mover Flux-Switching Permanent Magnet Linear Motor
The flux-switching linear motor operates based on the principle of magnetic field modulation. It features high utilization rate of primary windings, suitability for high-speed linear motion, higher thrust capability, and better magnetic utilization efficiency, along with advantages such as absence of transverse edge effects, easy mitigation of unilateral magnetic pull, and simplified control and regulation. These characteristics give it broad application prospects in precision machine tools, robotics, and industrial control fields. This paper proposes and investigates a tubular flux-switching permanent magnet linear motor (fs-pmlm) with segmented mover. The sources of motor thrust fluctuations are analyzed, and structural parameter optimization is performed based on the analysis results. This optimization reduces magnetic resistance and electromagnetic force, enabling efficient and smooth thrust output.
