A Lightweight key generation algorithm based on Chebyshev chaotic map in smart grid
In order to meet the security communication needs for large numbers of Internet of Things devices in smart grids, a lightweight key generation algorithm based on Chebyshev chaotic maps (Chebyshev Chaotic Maps-based lightweight block cipher algorithm, CCMBCA) is designed in this paper. The CCMBCA algorithm uses a key scheduling function to generate a sequence of sub-keys from a 128 -bit master key. It also designs a round function containing an optimized S-box by Chebyshev chaotic maps. After transformation based on designed round function, lightweight block key can be formed which can be used to convert a 64-bit plaintext into a 64-bit cipher text output. Results indicate that compared to benchmark algorithms, the CCMBCA algorithm has advantages in terms of diffusion and confusion rate, avalanche effect.
