Loss Minimization Control of Permanent Magnet Motors Considering Electromagnetic Saturation
The model-based loss minimization control scheme for permanent magnet motors comprehensively considers and suppresses the copper loss and iron loss of the motor. Compared with the maximum torque per ampere control, it can effectively improve the working efficiency of the permanent magnet motor. However, affected by factors such as magnetic saturation and temperature of the motor, the motor parameters change, which affects the control effect. The recursive least squares method is used to observe the dq-axis inductance of the motor and update the current vector according to the observation results. The simulation results prove that this method can effectively track the optimal current vector when the inductance parameters of the motor change, thereby improving the motor efficiency.
