Automatic Bus Fare Collection System Using RFID, GPS and Voice Commands

The advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has paved the way for novel solutions in public transportation that aim to improve efficiency and user convenience. This project proposes the development of an Automatic Bus Fare System utilizing IoT. The system aims to automate the fare collection process, thereby reducing manual involvement, minimizing errors, and improving the overall passenger experience. This paper introduces an automatic bus fare collection system that utilizes voice commands and GPS technology to enhance the public transportation experience. Passengers can easily purchase tickets by stating their destination into a device on the bus, eliminating the need for physical tickets and minimizing errors associated with traditional payment methods. The GPS functionality tracks the bus's real-time location and calculates fares based on the distance travelled, providing passengers with accurate fare information. By integrating voice commands, the system becomes more accessible for all users, including those with disabilities. The aim is to streamline the ticketing process, making it quicker and more convenient for passengers, thereby reducing wait times and improving overall satisfaction with public transport. This system is designed to modernize fare collection and make public transportation more user-friendly, transforming how passengers interact with bus services and making public transit a more attractive option for everyone.
