D-MaaS: Exploration of Digitalized Application Service Model for Power Distribution Systems

This study systematically analyzes and prospects the digital-intelligent service framework and application paradigms for power distribution systems based on the architecture of “Model as a Service” (MaaS), grounded in the intelligent upgrade requirements of distribution systems and the integration trend of digital technologies. By examining the current state of distribution digitization and its distinctive features compared to traditional industry systems, it explicitly purposes the core connotation and typical characteristics of Distribution MaaS (D-MaaS), while proposing a multi-modal adaptive D-MaaS service model based on the cloud-edge-terminal collaborative architecture of distribution systems. Using intelligent operation and maintenance as an empirical scenario, the study explores D-MaaS implementation approaches in power distribution room. Ultimately, it summarizes MaaS attributes and proposes recommendations for advancing D-MaaS applications in the power sector across model optimization, data security, and model standardization dimensions.
