Review of Thermal Efficiency Techniques in Cold-Formed Steel External Wall Systems
This paper summarizes current practices for assessing the thermal efficiency of external wall systems incorporating cold-formed steel studs. Due to the high thermal conductivity of steel, thermal bridging through the studs significantly reduces overall efficiency. Various strategies and design modifications aimed at improving thermal resistance are examined, and key areas for future research are identified.
