Improved Network Architecture with Efficient Resource Allocation in Vehicular Communication
A proposed INERA model introduces a novel approach for vehicular communication, integrating multi-hop cooperative data dissemination with a cellular backbone network to alleviate heavy traffic congestion on highways. This architecture leverages IEEE 802.11p for various services, aiming to optimize resource allocation and enhance network performance. Additionally, a reverse Independent Channel Auction (ICA) game is proposed for efficient resource allocation, optimizing the assignment of cellular channels to vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) pairs while maximizing utility. Comprehensive experimental validations using the ns3 software in Ubuntu OS demonstrate the superior performance of the INERA protocol across various metrics, including data delivery ratio, network throughput, routing overhead, energy efficiency, and energy consumption, compared to existing techniques. These findings highlight the potential of the INERA model to significantly enhance data delivery reliability, network efficiency, and energy conservation in VANET (Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network) environments, thereby contributing to the advancement of smart city applications.
