Design of an IoT-Based Smart City Energy Management System

In response to the current issues in urban energy management, such as insufficient real-time monitoring, delayed data analysis, and low energy scheduling efficiency, this paper designs an IoT-based smart city energy management system. The system adopts a distributed microservice architecture and constructs a four-layer system structure consisting of the perception layer, network layer, platform layer, and application layer, achieving unified collection and management of multi-source heterogeneous data. In terms of technical implementation, Docker container technology is used to build a microservice cluster, Kafka is employed to process high-concurrency data streams, and InfluxDB is used to store massive sensor data. Test results show that the system has strong concurrency processing and data analysis capabilities, significantly improving energy usage efficiency and effectively reducing operational costs, providing a reliable energy management solution for smart city construction.
