Enhancing Soil-Concrete Interface Friction Using a Biomimetic Sawtooth Snakeskin Texture
This study explores how biomimetic snakeskin-inspired textures can enhance the interface friction between concrete and soil. A sawtooth surface pattern, inspired by snakeskin microtextures, was tested to evaluate its effect on shear strength. Interface shear tests were conducted to assess how the texture alters friction angle. The results indicate that certain surface patterns can enhance the friction angle, providing insight into potential applications where improved soil-concrete interaction is beneficial.
