A critical analysis of seven existing formulas for estimating the instantaneous deflection of simply supported symmetrical double-tapered glulam beams loaded by uniformly distributed transverse load is presented. Within a numerical example, the results obtained by the different formulas are compared with those obtained by the finite element method.
