Under the dual background of active aging and modernisation of social governance, geriatric education, as a major initiative to fully develop the human resources of the elderly, develop the silver-hair economy and actively cope with the aging of the population, has transformed itself from “welfare provision” to “governance empowerment”, so as to By transforming from “welfare provision” to “governance empowerment”, it will feed into community governance and promote the creation of a new pattern of social governance based on shared governance and sharing. The participation of elderly groups in community governance is an important manifestation of the social participation of the elderly, and the integration strategy of party building leadership, government coordination, social synergy and digital integration in the process of community governance empowered by gerontological education, that is to say, through the empowerment of policies, the integration of resources, the collaboration of multiple subjects and the drive of digital innovation, to crack the multiple barriers to the participation of the elderly in community governance is conducive to the realisation of the principle of “the elderly learning” to “the elderly being taught”. This is conducive to achieving the leap from “learning for the elderly” to “doing something for the elderly”.
