Research on the Impact of Green Finance on Ecological and Environmental Pollution Management in the Yangtze River Basin

As a key region in China's pollution prevention and control, the Yangtze River Basin, green finance is of great significance in promoting its green economic transformation process. Based on the panel data of 42 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River basin, this study constructs the green finance influence mechanism and transmission path after measuring the level of green finance development, in-depth analysis and empirical testing of the two-way fixed effect model and the mediated effect model for ecological and environmental pollution governance in the Yangtze River basin. The results of the benchmark regression show that green finance development can significantly enhance the level of ecological environment pollution governance in the basin; the mediating effect test shows that green finance plays an indirect effect through incentivizing innovation, which significantly enhances the technological content and practical effect of ecological environment pollution governance; the heterogeneity test finds that there are obvious regional differences in the impact of green finance on ecological environment pollution governance in the Yangtze River Basin. Based on the above conclusions, policy suggestions to promote the development of green finance in the Yangtze River Basin are proposed.
