Hand-Wrist Forensic Age Estimation: Assessment of Skeletal Development in Australia
The estimation of skeletal age in a forensic context is known to be less accurate when non-contemporary and/or foreign population standards are applied. This research ultimately intends to quantify the degree of bias and inaccuracy associated with the application of extant hand-wrist age estimation methodologies to a contemporary Australian population. The first part of the study involves quantifying the accuracy of the Greulich and Pyle Radiographic Atlas.
