Abstract: This project has as purpose to trace the journey of Sisters of the Screen twenty-five years onward and the trajectory of the African Women in Cinema Dossier from its inception ten years ago to the present. Sisters of the Screen , the title of the book, and the film—released two years later—was conceived as a critical inquiry into all manner of African women of the moving image. Shortly afterward, the Center for the Study and Research of African Women was established as a virtual environment in which to channel and disseminate the knowledge production of this ever-growing field. With the emergence of social media, the African Women in Cinema Blog has served as a public forum in which to disseminate these ideas. Similarly, the Dossier has been the conduit for the publication of research, as well as a space to develop and share theories and concepts.
