African Cinema 2023‒2024: How to Inhabit Our World?

Abstract: In all their diversity, the most striking African films of 2023–2024 pose the question of what needs to be defended and fought for to be able to inhabit our world. Some were screened at FESPACO 2023, to which I already devoted four Black Camera articles based on the themes of terrorism, women, politics, and history, and the rest were screened at other more recent festivals or the movie theaters.
