THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PRESENCE AND METHODS OF DIAGNOSTIC LEGIONELLAE PNEUMOPHILAE IN POOL WATER
Legionella pneumophila is recognized as a significant cause of respiratory infections transmitted by inhalation of infectious aerosol. Its presence in pool and spa water poses a serious risk to public health, especially in facilities with closed water circulation systems. This paper discusses the importance of regular microbiological monitoring of Legionellae and modern methods used for its detection, including cultivation, molecular and rapid diagnostic tests.
