Pitting behavior of Mg modified 49MnVS3 Non-quenched and Tempered steel in alkaline NaCl solution
This study delves into the pitting behavior of Mg modified 49MnVS3 Non-quenched and Tempered steel (NQTS) in an alkaline NaCl solution. Mg modification induces the formation of more complex inclusions characterized by a core-shell structure. With the increase of Mg content, the potential difference between (Mn, Mg)S and the matrix concurrently rises. The intensified galvanic effect leads to the preferential dissolution of the matrix in an alkaline NaCl environment, which finally induces the decrease of pitting potential.
