Aspects of the impact of digital technologies on the development and formation of personality and society

Technological innovations in the modern world are perceived as an integral attribute of human life and have been introduced into all the most important spheres - education, healthcare, leisure, economy and finance, arts and culture. The development of technology in the new digital society has many advantages, but while there is a generally positive attitude towards the technological revolution on the part of the general public and specialists in various fields, there are negative aspects that require attention and reflection. It should be realized that the impact of any mass innovation can have a very different orientation: it can be supportive and stimulating, or it can be blocking, inhibiting and distorting. Uncontrolled consumption of digital media carries certain risks for mental and physical health and social well-being. The information society is characterized by an increase in the amount of information obtained from a variety of sources and, at the same time, a narrowing of privacy boundaries due to the spread of personal data in the digital space. Possible problems include social isolation associated with immersion in virtual reality, difficulties in communicating in the real world, inability to empathize, cooperate and work in teams; reduced physical activity leading to problems with vision, musculoskeletal system, posture, overweight. The aim of the research is to study these and other factors affecting the self-realization of individuals, as well as, on a larger scale, the preservation of cultural diversity and the standard of living of society; to determine the conditions of comfortable and safe access to media content for the harmonious development of individuals and society. The research methodology includes a review of domestic and foreign sources, analysis of theoretical provisions and conclusions, systematization and generalization of data. The results of the study allow for a deeper consideration of both positive and negative aspects of the impact of technology on human mental and physical health, social relations, education, culture and art, economy and labor market.
