Eco-Friendly Solar-Powered Pet Kennel: a Sustainable Cooling Solution for Cold-Region Breeds in Warm Climates Using Biodegradable PLA

The increasing demand for sustainable pet care solutions necessitates innovative designs that prioritize environmental responsibility without compromising functionality. This paper presents a detailed study of a solar-powered pet kennel designed for cold-region breeds in warm climates. The kennel leverages biodegradable PLA (polylactic acid) for structural components, aluminium pipes for support, and a solar energy-driven cooling system. Unlike existing solutions, this design incorporates detailed cost modelling, rigorous material selection criteria, and performance testing. Empirical results demonstrate significant reductions in energy consumption, operational costs, and carbon footprint compared to traditional air-conditioned kennels. However, challenges such as upfront costs and material limitations are addressed with practical solutions. Quantitative analysis validates the feasibility of this approach, positioning it as a scalable solution for sustainable pet care.
