PPG-to-ECG Signal Translation Using Wearable Data in Affective Computing
Wearable devices have made continuous monitoring of physiological signals more accessible, with photoplethysmogra-phy (PPG) being commonly used. However, electrocardiography (ECG) offers richer cardiac information essential for various applications. Although some wearables have ECG sensors, they often lack continuous monitoring and existing continuous ECG devices are impractical for daily use. This work presents the initial phase of research on translating PPG signals into ECG signals, with a focus on data from wearable devices. This approach has significant potential to advance affective computing and other fields by enabling long-term, accessible monitoring in real-life scenarios.
