EVALUATION OF CORROSION FORM OF REBAR IN MORTAR BY POLARIZATION CURVES AND ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE
This study investigates the corrosion behavior of various rebar types embedded in mortar under chloride-rich conditions using electrochemical noise methods and polarization curve measurements. Results show that surface films, including passive, black oxide, zinc layers, and protective rust, significantly affect corrosion resistance. Oxidation and reduction reactions vary with surface film conditions, influencing corrosion progression. Notably, black oxide films inhibit corrosion, while layers on weathering steel act as insulative barriers. Conversely, galvanized steel shows more active ionic reactions in chloride environments. The research emphasizes surface films' critical role and diverse performance on rebar under corrosive conditions.
