LEKSEMA „MAGOR” U ČEŠKOM JEZIKU I NJENI EKVIVALENTI U SRPSKOM

The subject of the study is the analysis of the lexeme ”magor” in the Czech language and its equivalents in Serbian. We analyzed this lexeme from a lexical-semantic perspective, focusing on the degree of translational equivalence. The aim of this research is to determine, using electronic corpora of Czech and Serbian languages (Czech National Corpus and Corpus of Contemporary Serbian Language), to what extent and in what way this lexeme is used as a pejorative in context, and to analyze its equivalents in Serbian provided by the Czech National Corpus application „Treq”. It is concluded that the lexeme „magor” is not qualified as a pejorative in dictionaries, based on the lexicographic definitions upon which the analysis of equivalents in the Serbian language was conducted, where it was determined that the most frequent translational equivalent of the lexeme „magor” is the lexeme „ludak” (engl. madman).
