Inclusive, expressive, connective: how lifestyle sports shape youth culture in China
We adopt the definition of youth provided by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, which defines youth as individuals aged 14 to 35 years old, because it reflects a nationally recognized standard that aligns with demographic and policy frameworks in China. This definition is particularly relevant for understanding social, cultural, and economic dynamics, as it encompasses a critical developmental phase characterized by education, early career establishment, and identity formation.By adopting this definition, we ensure consistency with governmental and academic discussions about youth-related issues in the Chinese context.
