Personal Characteristics of Aggression and Anxiety in Handwriting
There is a lot of contradictory data on the validity and reliability of the graphological approach to personality research. Domestic research mainly lies in the field of criminology and forensic examination, foreign concepts analyze various possibilities for additional diagnostics of self-esteem, narcissism, and personality conflict. In our study, the hypothesis of the existence of a relationship between aggression and anxiety as individual typological characteristics of personality and manifestations of handwriting is tested. The study involved 25 young women between the ages of 19 and 24 who are receiving higher education at Baikal State University. The methodology "Individual typological features of personality" by L.N. Sobchik was used, categories of handwriting content analysis were developed based on the methodology of I.Goldberg "Psychology of handwriting". Using Spearman's correlation analysis, significant relationships were revealed between: aggressiveness and indicators of straight lines in handwriting, direct correlation at the trend level (r = 0.206 at p = 0.05); indicators of descending lines, inverse correlation of average strength (r = –0.633 at p = 0.05); The variable slope is a variable correlation of average strength (r = 0.506 at p = 0.05). Anxiety correlates with indicators of narrow handwriting direct correlation of average strength (r = 0.615 at p=0.05); variable slope direct correlation of average strength (r = 0.549 at p = 0.05); straight lines inverse correlation at the trend level (r = –0.205 at p = 0.05).
