Theoretical analysis of highly efficient triple cation mix halide perovskite solar cells

A perovskite solar cell (PSC) with a triple-cation mix halide structure is imitated in this work utilizing the SCAPS-1D program. After making the necessary adjustments to the band alignment, we have conducted a thorough investigation on this novel architectural design (FTO/Al-doped ZnO/TCP/BSF/Au) by incorporating a back surface field (BSF) layer. In this study, we have thoroughly examined how well triple cation perovskite (TCP) mix halide-based device designs perform photovoltaically. We have examined the impacts of several BSF layers on the performance of these devices. Our main goal is to conduct an all-encompassing examination of how many circumstances affect the performance of HTL-free TCP mixed halide-based devices by making precise adjustments to compatible BSF layers. Following preliminary assessments, our study has been summarized to just four device configurations. One of these device configurations does not include the BSF, while the other three configurations include BSF layers (V 2 O 5 , In 2 Te 3 , and P + -CdTe) and utilize Al-doped ZnO as an electron transport layer. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of HTL-free TCP-based solar cells (SCs) is determined to be 20.68%. However, when V 2 O 5 , In 2 Te 3 , and P + -CdTe BSF layers are introduced, the PCE is enhanced to 31.71%, 31.61%, and 25.90%, respectively. In addition, a comprehensive analysis is performed on the devices by examining their C-f characteristics, which resulted in the acquisition of complex impedance data.
