Whole-genome assembly of Aspergillus toxicus and Aspergillus texensis
Aflatoxin-producing molds belonging to the genus Aspergillus can be important sources of crop contamination. We present whole-genome sequences for aflatoxin-producing Aspergillus texensis and Aspergillus toxicus assembled from Illumina short reads. This is the first report of A. toxicus genome and the second A. texensis genome, providing resources of agricultural relevance.
