To talk about higher education is not only to focus on the scientific character, but also on the human and intercultural component, therefore, its objective is oriented to prepare individuals to integrate them into society, developing skills and attitudes that ensure educational quality and adaptation to the demands of the environment. This study focused on how the structure of the course level curriculum designs in the subject of research fosters the development of skills in students of the Faculty of Human Health of the National University of Loja. The approach used was mixed, non-experimental, with a cross-sectional and descriptive design, analyzing ten documents from five undergraduate courses. The technique used was documentary analysis, based on the Competency-Based Model. The results indicated that specific skills such as report writing, use and application of research tools, and formative strategies of formative evaluation are the most used.
